BARC is a Boston, Massachusetts area tree climbing club promoting safe recreational tree climbing using rope and harness technique. We climb for fun, for exercise, to renew our spirits, and to deepen our knowledge and respect for trees and nature.

I just went to the Tree Care Industry Association exposition in Hartford, CT. If there are new climbers here who want to try out some gear before you buy it (a good idea) then make a point of going to either the TCIA expo sometime or maybe NE Grows (if it's open to the public). There's nothing like actually sitting in a saddle to get an idea of the type and size you need. I think the 2008 TCIA expo is in Milwaukee next year. Maybe someone here will know if NE Grows is accessible to non-commer…
